An integrated design strategy for Inner Adelaide

5000+ is a national first; a model that begins in Adelaide and is designed to be adapted for different scales and locations.
5000+ is a design-led pilot project for city redesign and renewal for inner Adelaide. The project is ambitious in that it seeks to design a process that moves from enquiry and engagement to test possibilities, make recommendations and deliver an implementation framework.
It is based on a people-centred approach to problem solving and innovation that uses design processes and design thinking. It will show how a collaborative process involving design and planning professionals, different spheres of government, business, industry and the community, can work together to design a great Australian city.
5000+ aims to engage with the public to build a shared vision for inner Adelaide; build a set of guiding principles that can inform public and private partnerships, across government boundaries; establish conditions to embed principles in policy frameworks; and create an implementation framework to prioritise investment, get the best value for money, and provide the greatest certainty for community and industry.
